Read the highlights of this week’s commentary from Helios:
- The third release of the first quarter GDP report revised the figure to a 2.0% annualized growth rate, up from 1.3% previously.
- Personal income and spending both rose in May, up 0.4% and 0.1%, respectively. The gain in income was slightly ahead of expectations while spending was slightly below.
- Initial jobless claims continue to be in the low-to-mid 200K range, with the latest week showing 239K new claims, putting the 4-week average at 257.5K.
